Christian/Pop singer Amy Grant is currently in the middle of her 2021 tour. The 37-city tour kicked off on August 6th in Denver and runs November 7th where it concludes in Crystal Lake, Ill. On October 29th, her tour will bring her to the Saenger Theatre in Pensacola, Florida.
The six-time Grammy award winning singer began her career as a teen in Christian music. Over the years, she has released twenty studio albums, fifteen of which reached #1 on the Christian charts. Her biggest hits include “Sing Your Praise the Lord”, “Stay For a While”, and “El-Shaddai”. In 1991, she released her first pop album, Heart in Motion, which sold over 5 million copies and produced the hits “That’s What Love Is For”, “Baby Baby”, and “Every Heartbeat”.
There are very few musical artists that grab my attention when they announce a tour. Amy Grant is one of these. I have seen her perform on four occasions over the years. Each time she has left me inspired and in a positive mood no matter how I was feeling prior to the show. She has a way of connecting to the audience and reaching them through her music and dialogue throughout her shows.
It’s only October but it is getting close to the time of year to start pulling out the Christmas tunes. In the past it would be putting discs in the CD player, but in the current world of streaming it’s just clicking on a playlist. At the top of my Christmas playlist every year is Amy Grant with “Grown Up Christmas List”, “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”, and “Tennessee Christmas”. If you are fan of Amy’s Christmas material, then her Christmas tour will be playing 20 shows in December including several at the Ryman in Nashville.
