Album Review: The Word Alive – “Violent Noise”

The Word Alive is back with their fifth studio album, and honestly, I couldn’t be more excited. As someone who’s followed (and photographed) the band for a few years now, it’s incredible to see how much they’ve grown as a band.

‘Red Clouds’ is first on the track list, and it is the perfect opener to this amazing album. It is super catchy, upbeat, and the chorus has some powerful clean vocals. This is easily one of my favorites.

‘Stare at the Sun’ is another great track, and this one features Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria. This is definitely a song that I can see being played for one energetic crowd at shows. The mix of heaviness and clean vocals with some killer guitar is what makes the song so great.

‘My Enemy’ and ‘Lonely’ are two songs that clearly show the emotion and maturity of the band. It’s obvious that The Word Alive put their all into this record.

Overall, ‘Violent Noise’ is fantastic all-around. It’s no doubt why Alternative Press deemed this album one of the most anticipated albums of 2018.
