Album Review: Lane Change – “Rise” EP

Lane Change - Rise - EP

It’s hard to believe that Rise is just the debut EP from Lane Change. There are so many good things about this release that it’s hard to know where to begin. Probably what stands out the most about this band is the fact that they have two lead vocalists. Instead of fighting with each other, the two vocalists – Myles Vann and Lizzie Shafer – work together. Both have incredibly large ranges and very unique voices, the kinds of voices that you’ll be able to recognize right away.

Besides the amazing vocals, guitarist Jake Galambos and drummer Cameron Holladay know exactly what they’re doing. There are really strong guitar riffs and the drums hold everything together perfectly. The only bad thing about this EP is that there are only four songs. Even so, you’ll be singing these songs over and over again. This EP actually brings back that classic rock ‘n roll sound, so it won’t be a surprise if this band helps to usher in the next era of rock. They already have the rock star names and the rock star music, so it won’t be a surprise to see Lane Change become real rock stars.
