Album Review: JIBE – “Epic Tales of Human Nature”

Jibe - Epic Tales of Human Nature - cover art -

JIBE’s Epic Tales of Human Nature points a brutally blunt finger right at the very core of today’s society. This album sends a very strong message through each song; each song tackles a different topic, from small to large. “The Human Condition” begs us to remember that we’re all human. “We’ve Only just Begun” is that cry for help you send out when you don’t know how to get out of your current situation. This theme continues throughout the album. Some songs are a little subtler in bringing that message across, like “Sanctuary,” and some are more forthright, like “Bravery,” but every song has a reason behind why it is being sung.

The messages in Epic Tales of Human Nature are backlit with strong vocals that are just a bit raspy in that perfect way and a lot of great music, more than seems fair to contain on just one album. “Girl on a Hill” has some of the strongest guitar on the album. “A Shadow In The Garden” is a beautiful short song played on the keys that adds in an element of something a little bit different, while acting as a bridge from one song to the next and keeping the storyline moving. “Bravery” has a great balance between letting the vocals shine to letting the music shine.

JIBE has an album that has managed to infiltrate to the deepest part of your soul with Epic Tales of Human Nature.
