Album Review: Go For Gold – “Stranger” EP

StrangerEP_FINAL.jpg

Central Arkansas based pop-punk band Go For Gold is about to release their debut EP entitled Stranger. The EP features four tracks that would make any pop-punk fan happy to listen to.

“Rest & Lust” is the opening track of the EP, it’s your quintessential pop-punk song complete with a heavy bass line and fast guitars. Following that is “10 till 2” which has lyrics like “I can’t dream, cause I keep dreaming of you” and seems to be about a relationship ending.

“Pretend” is up next and it features intense guitars that would be a great song to mosh to at a live show.  “Away at College” is the final song on the EP. Unlike the others that had an instrumental lead in at the beginning, this one jumps right in. The aggressive vocals on top of the heavy guitars make this the heaviest on the EP.

Go For Gold has the potential to be one of the next big pop-punk bands. Stranger is only their first EP and in my opinion, they’re killing it.

  1. Rest & Lust
  2. 10 Till 2
  3. Pretend
  4. Away at College
