Thrice brought a relentless wave of energy to The Novo in Los Angeles, delivering a performance defined by its sharp execution and the fervent dedication of its audience. The night was a masterclass in dynamic stage presence and setlist curation.
The band wasted no time, launching straight into the new tracks “Blackout” and “Gnash” from their latest album, Horizons/West. This high-energy opening set the tone for the entire evening. The momentum never waned; the band moved seamlessly from one song to the next with minimal break, maintaining a powerful, no-nonsense pace that kept the crowd fully immersed.

The setlist was a journey through the band’s extensive history, playing from an impressive eight of their twelve studio albums. This diversity showcased the depth of Thrice’s catalog and highlighted the extraordinary dedication of their fan base. Despite the breadth of the material, the audience was completely engaged throughout the show. A remarkable number of fans were already singing along to every word of the newest songs, a true testament to the immediate connection the new album has forged.
One of the night’s peak moments occurred during “Stare at the Sun,” where the crowd’s unified voices rose to meet the band’s, singing in unison all the way to the song’s conclusion.

As the main set neared its end, the heavy and energetic anthem “The Earth Will Shake” provided a thunderous build-up before the band momentarily exited the stage.
The encore provided a final demonstration of the band’s dynamic range. It started with “Vesper Light,” off their newest album, a track characterized by its atmospheric, measured beginning and powerful, driving build, which offered a brief, contemplative moment before the final surge of energy. The night concluded with the quintessential fan favorite “Deadbolt”, leaving the Los Angeles crowd buzzing after a definitive and powerful performance.
