The R Train Releases Take A Ride

The R Train just released its latest single, “Take A Ride“.  The song was released on Oct 23 to coincide with a live stream concert to benefit the National Fallen Fighters Foundation.  The R Train is an indie band based out of Brooklyn, New York consisting of Jeffrey Black – Guitar / Vocals, Mike Annese – Drum/ Vocals, and Denny Lee – Bass. The band’s name comes from the train they used to take from Brooklyn to Manhattan while recording tracks at the legendary Record Plant studio.

“Take A Ride” has a feel-good vibe to it.  Black looks like Neil Young, sings like Dave Edmunds and Jack White, and plays guitar like Billy Gibbons. While discussing the song, Annese says “ “Take A Ride” urges people to clap their hands, stomp their feet, get up and have a kick-ass party! With the present depressing atmosphere around the world today, the song is meant as a distraction. It is intended to make the listener feel as if they are having an adrenaline rush. “We are trying to lift people’s spirits by taking them on an exciting fun fulfilling musical ride.”

The National Fallen Fighters Foundation’s mission is to honor and remember America’s fallen fire heroes, to provide resources to assist their families in rebuilding their lives, and work within the Fire Service community to reduce Firefighter deaths and injuries. Annese is a career Firefighter and this cause is dear to his heart.  The benefit concert has passed, but a re-broadcast can be viewed at the link below, as well as a link to donate to the cause.
