The Maine's "The Tour Next Door" hits Sacramento

Sacramento, CA – Arizona natives The Maine had a massive spring. On April 10th, 2026 they released their 10th studio album “Joy Next Door” which slowly bled into their setlist during their ‘I Love You But I Choose The Maine’ tour that took place across the U.S. this past spring. I went to their Los Angeles & Philadelphia show – both were absolutely fantastic! Seeing them come to my hometown was definitely a must this time around.

Opening up for “The Tour Next Door” was the ultimate emo throwback band, Hellogoodbye. It was such an odd yet thrilling experience hearing them play their iconic hit “Here (In Your Arms)”. Watching the crowd dance to this 2006 emo hit was such a delight and was very obvious seeing who the elder emos were in the crowd. Front man Forrest Kline kept the crowd laughing with his soundboard constantly hitting the horn button at random moments, jumping in the crowd, and having the crowd grab onto this insanely long LED light cord for crowd members to wrap themselves into and dance.

The Maine’s acoustic set was very calming, intimate, and allowed front man John O’Callaghan to engage with crowd members, constantly waving, and having nonstop smiles during their set. Seeing an acoustic set was such an awesome experience by seeing the crowd so engaged in the lyrics to their favorite songs. After intermission, The Maine opened up their full band performance with flashing lights, grungy guitar riffs, and high energy that felt like an acoustic set didn’t happen. The full band performance included a setlist from all 10 studio albums and it was such an incredible homage to them embarking on their 20th anniversary as a band next year.

The Main continues their tour in September in Europe and back in the U.S. in November- s0 if you can, make sure to catch them on tour before the year ends.
