The East Coast F#ck You Tour Goes Out Swinging

The “East Coast F#ck You” tour reached its finale at the House of Blues in Anaheim, closing out the run with a lineup that prioritized community and high-volume energy. From the opening sets to the final sing-along, the night felt like a massive family gathering for the punk scene.

Mercy Union opened the night, followed by a set from Dave Hause and the Mermaid that immediately established a reciprocal energy with the crowd. Hause didn’t hold back, particularly during “Dirty F**ker,” where he called out the current political behavior and demanded change. The audience responded in kind, matching his intensity throughout the set.

H2O took the stage next, shifting the energy into overdrive. Despite being a band that has been together since 1994, there was no sign of slowing down. Lead singer Toby Morse ran non-stop across the stage while the rest of the band—including 63-year-old guitarist Rusty Pistachio—put in maximum effort.

The set was a celebration of longevity. Morse acknowledged the wide age gap in the room, pointing out fans born everywhere from the 1950s to the 2000s. The sense of “family” was literal; Morse shouted out his wife at the merch table and brought friends on stage during “5 Yr. Plan” to a massive crowd reaction. By the time they roared through their anthemic chants, the room was fully primed.

When The Bouncing Souls emerged, the atmosphere shifted from high energy to total chaos. The band had Christmas string lights draped over their amps for the holidays, providing a DIY glow to the stage. Bodies began falling all around the pit as a constant stream of crowd surfers poured toward the barricade.

The bond between the band and the audience was unmistakable as the crowd filled the room, singing the backing vocals at full volume. During “Lean on Sheena,” Greg Attonito came right down to the barricade getting up close and personal with the audience.

Mid-set, the band leaned into the “last night of the tour” spirit. Faced with a barrage of requests they couldn’t narrow down, they decided to give the people what they wanted. They rattled off an unplanned three-song combo of “Shark Attack,” “Better Things,” and “Kid.” Between the encore and the main set, the crowd broke into “Ole” chants and rhythmic clapping that didn’t stop until the band returned.

For the final send-off, the stage became crowded as members from Mercy Union, H2O, and Dave Hause’s crew joined the Souls to sing the chorus of “Gone.” It was a fitting end to a tour named for the East Coast but embraced fully by the West. As the house lights came up the band personally handed out setlists directly to fans at the barricade. The night closed as a true tour send-off—loud, chaotic, and exactly what the crowd wanted.
