The Scream Team Tour tore through the Anaheim House of Blues on Friday, December 12, 2025, delivering a night that felt less like a standard tour stop and more like a full-scale celebration of 2000s emo and post-hardcore at its peak. With a co-headlining lineup featuring Senses Fail, Story of the Year, and Armor For Sleep, the anticipation was palpable well before anyone stepped on stage. Doors opened at 7 PM, but by 7:30, the line was still wrapped around the Anaheim GardenWalk—fans packed shoulder to shoulder, buzzing about favorite albums, Warped Tour memories, and which deep cuts might make the setlists. With a lineup this stacked, the turnout felt inevitable.

Any sense of calm quickly evaporated when Story of the Year took the stage. The band made a memorable entrance by riding out on push scooters, instantly setting a playful but high-energy tone & jumping right into their brand new single “Gasoline” from their upcoming album “A.R.S.O.N.”. Singer Dan Marsala was relentless, commanding the crowd while the guitarist and bassist barely stood still, sprinting across the stage and feeding off the growing chaos in the room. Their set offered a generous taste of their full discography, satisfying both casual fans and diehards alike. The crowd erupted during “In the Shadows,” voices rising in unison, while pit favorites like “And the Hero Will Drown,” “Sidewalks,” and the ever-iconic “Until the Day I Die” sent the energy through the roof. It was a reminder of just how many anthems Story of the Year have under their belt—and how well those songs still hit live.

By the time Senses Fail were ready to headline, the House of Blues was fully primed. The band had let fans vote on songs via Instagram leading up to the show, a move that made the set feel personal and tailor-made for the Anaheim crowd. Their entrance was pure drama: the stage dropped into complete darkness before a single spotlight snapped on drummer Steve Carey, instantly locking everyone’s attention. When frontman Buddy Nielsen emerged, the room exploded as they launched straight into “Buried a Lie,” a crowd-pleasing opener that had the entire venue screaming along from the first note.

Senses Fail’s set pulled from multiple eras of their career, blending fan-voted favorites with deep emotional cuts. Nielsen was in constant motion, swinging the microphone wildly, spinning and maneuvering the mic stand, and commanding every inch of the stage with manic intensity. Vocally raw and emotionally charged, he encouraged nonstop crowd participation, making the performance feel less like a band onstage and more like a shared release between artist and audience. As the night drew to a close, Senses Fail sealed the experience with “Bite to Break Skin,” sending the crowd home hoarse, sweaty, and satisfied.

By the final note, it was clear that The Scream Team Tour is far more than a nostalgia trip. Each band brought a distinct energy and deep respect for their legacy while proving these songs still resonate just as fiercely today.
