It’s been months since the pandemic started and with that meant that all social gatherings like concerts were cancelled. Fortunately some artists found a way around it and thus began drive-in shows.
Gareth Emery returned live for the first time in months with three sold out shows. Gareth has been one of dance music’s most exciting musicians, record producers, and DJs over the past decade. This show was a first few of its kind for Drive-In OC at City National Grove of Anaheim. Although it was a drive-in/socially distanced show that didn’t stop the crowd from being so thrilled to finally be at a concert again.
It was a fantastic Friday evening and the show started out with DJ Kristina Sky. She was very excited to perform for a live crowd. As the sun started to set everyone enjoyed the amazing music that was playing. Kristina debuted a new upcoming song with Evan Henzi which was a hit. Kristina definitely got the crowd moving and amped up for the main event which was Gareth Emery’s performance.
Gareth started his set with an amazing explosion of confetti which surprised the crowd. I went all the way to the back and got a view of the cars and the crowd and it was without a doubt a one of a kind sight to see. As the night went on everyone was just having an incredible time dancing and enjoying the music. This show was just something everyone needed after not being able to go to concerts for a long time. Everyone kept their distance and made the show as safe as possible while having a blast listening to the music.
