Photos & Review | Caravan Palace Brings Electro-Swing Energy to Atlanta’s Buckhead Theatre

Buckhead Theatre pulsed with energy as Caravan Palace brought their signature blend of vintage swing and futuristic beats to Atlanta. The French electro-swing collective, fronted by the effortlessly captivating Zoé Colotis, delivered a set that was as visually vibrant as it was musically exhilarating.

From the jump, the band had the crowd in motion. Arnaud Vial’s crisp, jazz-infused guitar work wove seamlessly through layers of synth and brass samples, while Charles Delaporte anchored the performance with deep, driving bass that made it impossible to stand still. Zoé’s stage presence was magnetic — part jazz-era siren, part dance-floor ringleader — moving with ease between sultry vocals and explosive, energetic bursts.

The setlist was a crowd-pleasing mix of longtime favorites and newer material from their latest album, ‘Gangbusters Melody Club. Songs like “Miracle,” “Rock It for Me,” and “Brotherswing” ignited cheers from the audience and kept the energy high throughout the night. Tracks like “MAD” and “81 Special” showcased the band’s more experimental edge, bringing in heavier electronic influences without losing their signature swing flair.

As the set neared its peak, the familiar intro to “Lone Digger” sent a wave of excitement through the theater. The room seemed to lift off for a few minutes, with everyone fully in sync with the beat — dancing, nodding, shouting the lyrics, completely caught up in the moment.

For the encore, “Jolie Coquine” brought a final burst of joyful chaos. It was a perfect closing number: playful, bold, and impossible not to move to. As the band took their bows, the applause was long and loud — the kind of ovation that says, this was something special.

Caravan Palace delivered more than a concert — they brought an experience. Their Atlanta stop was a dazzling mix of retro charm, modern edge, and a whole lot of movement. For fans of swing, dance, and electronic fusion, it was a night to remember.

About Scott Zambito 10 Articles
I’m a concert photographer based in Atlanta, GA, with deep roots in music. I grew up behind a drum kit, and that rhythm-first mindset still fuels everything I do. Being both a musician and a photographer gives me a unique edge when I’m shooting live shows—I can feel the energy shifts, anticipate the beats, and capture those split-second moments that define a performance. Whether I’m in the pit or backstage, I’m always chasing the shot that tells the story. I don’t just photograph shows—I live them. Some of my favorite bands include Deftones, Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, Incubus, and Tool—many of which feature some of my all-time favorite drummers.
