Metal, gothic rock and grunge fans alike rejoiced at the recent long-awaited reunion of Acid Bath. The Louisiana sludge metal band gained a cult following in the early 90’s for their unique sound, spanning across multiple genres of metal, psychedelic rock, Southern gothic rock, and grunge while seamlessly blending them all together.
With support from High on Fire and Weedeater, Acid Bath had another successful night at The Salt Shed in Chicago on December 12th, selling out the venue to hyped fans who thought this night may never happen.
Acid Bath released two albums before disbanding in 1997, When the Kite String Pops and Paegan Terrorism Tactics, both of which helped cement their influence in today’s modern metal scene.
Led by lead singer Dax Riggs and guitarist Sammy Pierre Duet (also of Goatwhore), Acid Bath has since sold-out shows, performed at some renowned music festivals, and are slated for more to come in 2026 after nearly 30 years have passed since they were last active.
