PHOTOS: Eagles of Death Metal resurrected the gritty attitude and beautifully unhinged ethos of rock in Chicago

It was a beautiful and breezy Chicago summer night when EODM pulled into the Metro on Friday, August 21^st to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album helped define their unique genre-blending sonic identity, Death by Sexy. Frontman Jesse “Father Badass” Hughes with band in tow performed the album in its entirety, plus some additional fan favorites.

Formed in 1998, EODM is the desert boogie-rock love child of Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age fame. The band has an expansive roster of musicians who tour with them and perform at their live shows, with their current lineup including Leah Bluestein on drums, Dustin Douglas on bass, and Scott Shiflett on guitar.

Jesse Hughes easily captivates the audience with his enthusiastic swagger and commanding presence, creating intimate moments with the crowd that cannot be matched.
