Marc Rebillet: The Undeniable Loop Daddy Legend Rocks The Belasco

Marc Rebillet, also known as “Loop Daddy,” has become nothing short of an icon in the electronic music scene. Known for his signature stage look—usually just boxer briefs—Marc is as recognizable as his beats are infectious. With two sold-out shows at The Belasco in Los Angeles, fans were in for a one-of-a-kind night that would feel more like a house party than a concert.

Marc Rebillet is a French-American electronic musician based in New York City. Renowned for his improvised funk and hip-hop tracks, Marc mixes humor with catchy beats in the most hilarious and unique way. Primarily distributing his music through YouTube and Twitch, he uses a loop station, keyboard, and percussion instruments to create beats and lyrics in real-time, straight from his apartment. His three studio albums—Marc RebilletEurope, and Loop Daddy III—are popular, but his live performances are where the real comedic magic happens.

The first time I caught Marc live was at Coachella, where he popped up for a surprise DJ set at the Do LaB stage. I’d heard about the “Loop Daddy” experience, but seeing it live? Whole other story. He was easily one of the coolest performers I saw that weekend—and trust me, at Coachella, that’s saying something. It was straight-up chaos in the best way. Giant water hoses were blasting over the crowd, and everyone was soaked, laughing, and vibing to Marc’s beats as if we were at some epic beach party in the desert.

But at The Belasco? Totally different vibe. No hoses, no sunburns, but just as electric. It was like stepping into Marc’s house party with 1,000 other fans, everyone bouncing with the same crazy energy.

The night started with Marc’s girlfriend, DJ Donna Francesca, who came out swinging with a set that had the crowd vibing. She knew how to get everyone moving, opening with “Le Chic” and locking down the groove like it was nobody’s business. Her set was a wild blend of disco, house, indie, and funk that hit all the right notes. By the end, she’d won herself a whole new fan club (yours truly included!).

When Marc hit the stage, the crowd erupted into a cheer. Dressed in his classic boxer briefs, he wasted no time getting the crowd hyped. As soon as he stepped up, he set the tone… “Shut the fuck up… SHUT. The. Fuck. UP!” It was ON, everyone was ready the crazy spontaneity that is Loop Daddy.

Marc’s shows are like no other because nothing is pre-recorded. Each beat, loop, and line of lyrics is born live on stage in that moment. He starts a beat, layers it with playful, sometimes hilarious lyrics, and builds it up into something that gets everyone dancing. The crowd feels connected to each loop, especially when Marc calls on them to participate. On Tuesday night, he got into a loop about voting, asking random crowd members if they’d voted and inviting those who had to come up on stage.

The energy? As Guy Fieri would say: Off the charts! The whole place was popping with people dancing, laughing, and screaming. Marc’s style is this crazy mix of concert, comedy show, and total chaos. Each loop had the crowd laughing, losing themselves in the beat, and just vibing out like they were in on some inside joke. It felt like everyone was part of the act, not just watching it—like we were all in Marc’s living room, jamming out together to whatever hilarious beat he came up with next.

Loop Daddy’s performances are legendary not just because of his insane talent with live loop creation, but because of his connection with the crowd. He involves his audience making every person feel like they’re part of the show. Whether he’s asking fans to make noise, pick beats, or hop on stage, it’s a shared experience—and that’s what sets him apart.

At The Belasco, Loop Daddy didn’t just deliver a show; he created an unforgettable experience. And for anyone who’s never seen him live, it’s time to join the party, because no one does it quite like Marc Rebillet!
