’90s alt rockers Everclear are bringing the Sparkle and Fade 30th Anniversary Tour to the Vinyl Music Hall in Pensacola, FL on Sunday, October 5. This will be one of the last dates on their 40-date tour which started on September 4 in Los Angeles, and which concludes on November 2 in Chicago. Joining the band are special guests Local H and Sponge.
The tour will be a celebration of the band’s 1995 platinum-selling, major-label debut album Sparkle and Fade. The album supercharged their career with the release of the smash chart topping single “Santa Monica” as well as top 40 singles “Heroin Girl” and “Heartspark Dollarsign”. Everclear will be performing all the songs from the album.
“Sparkle and Fade was not the first album I had made, but it was the album I had wanted to make my whole life. It changed everything for me and Everclear,” shares Alexakis. “Because of its success and lasting impact, this band has survived and prospered for three decades, and this tour celebrating Sparkle and Fade is another way of us saying ‘thank you’ to all of the incredible fans – old and new. We’re excited to travel the U.S. this fall with our fellow ‘90s brethren Local H and Sponge. In addition to all the hits and fan favorites, we’re going to pretty much play the whole album through the course of the show to commemorate this 30th anniversary. If you are a fan of this record, you do not want to miss this tour!”
It was this time last year that Everclear played the Vinyl Music Hall to a sold-out crowd. This show is bound to sell out as well. Along with songs from Sparkle and Fade, expect to hear others from their 30-year career which has seen them sell more than 6 million records including 12 Top 40 Hit singles. Songs sure to be performed will be fan favorites “Father of Mine”, “Everything to Everyone” and “Wonderful”.
Everclear is comprised of Art Alexakis (vocals, guitar), Davey French (guitar), Freddy Herrera (bass), Brian Nolan (drums). Since being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2019, Alexakis has donated one dollar from every ticket purchased for his performances to charities such as Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and National MS Society.
