101.1 WJRR’s Earthday Birthday returned to the Central Florida Fairgrounds on March 21, 2026, bringing a full day of rock, alternative, and metalcore that pushed through intense heat and into a packed night crowd that never let up.

From the start, the conditions were hard to ignore. The Central Florida sun was relentless, and by early afternoon it was already taking a toll. Still, it didn’t slow the crowd. Fans showed up early and stayed locked in, moving between both stages and settling into spots as the day went on.

Twin Rova opened the festival after earning their place through WJRR’s Battle of the Bands, setting the tone for a lineup that moved quickly through the afternoon. James and the Cold Gun, Kurt Deimer, Nevertel, The Pretty Wild, Des Rocs, Return to Dust, The Funeral Portrait, and Jakobs Castle followed, each set steadily building the size and energy of the crowd.

By the time Return to Dust took the stage, the fairgrounds were fully active. Their set stood out for its balance of restraint and intensity, especially during their performance of “Bored,” which drew a strong response from the crowd.

Speaking with Return to Dust after their performance at Earthday Birthday and how the energy was performing at the festival, the band shared,

“The Floridian’s must have been fighting some gators or something, they were pretty fired up, it was great. Just a bunch of crowd surfers and just good energy overall. I feel like sometimes you kinda gotta win over the crowds, it can be a little stiff at festivals but today it felt super like, right out of the gate they were fun and loose and just ready to have fun so it was great!”

The Funeral Portrait and Jakobs Castle continued the momentum as the afternoon pushed forward, and by that point it was clear the crowd was settling in for the long stretch into the evening.

Despite the heat, the energy never dropped. The crowd stayed active all day, with mosh pits consistently running at both stages. Local groups Florida Pit Squaddinn and Cogs of War played a major role in that, keeping things moving from the early sets through the headliners. Their presence was noticeable enough to earn a shoutout from I Prevail’s Eric Vanlerberghe later in the night.

Outside of the music, the festival atmosphere reflected a wide mix of the Florida scene. Families stood at barricade with younger fans, while others moved through the crowd in full festival outfits, adding to the overall energy of the day.

Throughout the grounds, vendors and activations gave fans space to step away between sets. The Heart Support tent offered a place for fans to leave messages of support focused on mental health, creating a quieter moment within an otherwise high-energy environment. Food vendors and alternative clothing booths filled out the space, while Monster Energy handed out drinks near the entrance. Creegan Canine tent also drew steady attention, with fans stopping throughout the day to spend time with puppies.

Additional attractions added to the overall experience, including a wrestling match where Amber Nova defeated Teal Piper to win the MWO Women’s Championship, along with BMX bike demonstrations happening nearby.

As the evening approached, the focus shifted fully toward the final run of performances.

Sleep Theory drew one of the largest and most engaged crowds of the day. During their set, they brought out Nevertel to perform “Break the Silence,” creating one of the standout moments of the festival. Their setlist, including “Stuck In My Head,” “Numb,” and “Words Are Worthless” from ‘Afterglow’, kept the crowd fully engaged and set the tone for the final stretch.

Mammoth WVH followed with a tight and controlled performance that maintained that momentum heading into the final two acts.

I Prevail took the stage and immediately raised the intensity. Opening with “Bow Down,” their set leaned into constant movement, with pyro and a crowd that stayed in motion throughout. Their cover of “Sad But True” landed well, while “Hurricane,” “Bad Things,” and “Violent Nature” drew some of the strongest reactions of the night. They closed with “Gasoline,” leaving little room for the energy to drop heading into the headliner.

Three Days Grace closed out the festival with a set that balanced high energy with more emotional moments. Opening with “Dominate” and “Animal I Have Become,” they moved through a series of well-known tracks including “The Good Life” and “Never Too Late,” both of which had the crowd singing along in full.

“I Hate Everything About You” stood out as one of the loudest moments of the night, with the crowd carrying much of the chorus back toward the stage.

The band’s acoustic section brought a noticeable shift in pace. “Lost In You,” “Lifetime,” and a medley including “Chalk Outline,” and “Porn Star Dancing,” created a more stripped-back moment, especially with Adam Gontier bringing out his cousin during that portion of the set.

They also performed “Here Without You” in tribute to Brad Arnold of Three Doors Down before closing the night with “Riot.”

By the end of the night, the crowd had stayed engaged from the first set through the final song.

Even in extreme heat, the turnout, energy, and consistency across performances made it clear the festival continues to hold its place as a staple for rock fans in Central Florida.
