Chromeo and The Midnight Visit DC On Their ‘Chrome Nights’ Tour!

Chromeo and The Midnight have hit the road this fall on their highly anticipated co-headline ‘Chrome Nights Tour’! One of their stops was in Washington, D.C. last week, where they put on an incredible show at The Anthem that had fans flocking out to see them live!

The show started off strong with opener Girl Ultra! She opened up with her songs “rimel” and “blush“, which set the vibe for her set and got the crowd warming up to her right away! She danced across the stage as she performed, encouraging everyone to loosen up and have a good time with her! She came all the way from Mexico City to be on this tour, and that got several cheers from the crowd, who was already vibing with her music. Her set ended with “DameLove” and “Bombay“, getting everyone loosened up and ready for the main event!

And now it was time for the first of our headliners to hit the stage! The Midnight started off their set strong with “Days of Thunder“, leading straight into “Shadows” and “Good in Red“, as the crowd sang along to every single word! The band interacted with the crowd a lot too, leaning down over the barricade as they played directly to them, hyping everyone up! They even performed their new single, “Chariot“, much to the excitement of their fans!

Nearing the end of their set, while they were performing their hit song “Sunset“, Tim McEwan, one of the frontman of The Midnight, came out onstage to sing along to the last chorus with his band! The Midnight had announced earlier this year that Tim was stepping back from touring to focus on the music/behind the scenes stuff for the band, so this was a great surprise to have him there that night! And, of course, during their song “Vampires“, saxophonist Justin Klunk went out into the pit to play directly to the fans, who went wild for it! They ended their set with “Los Angeles“, getting everyone in the crowd to lift their arms up high as they sang along, sending everyone off with uplifted spirits.

Then it was time for the last act of the night, the second headliner! Chromeo took to the stage to roaring cheers as the crowd chanted “Chro-me-o-o” when they walked out! The duo were high energy, especially starting out with their hit song “Fancy Footwork” right off the bat, getting everyone to immediately sing and dance along with them! Between their upbeat music, energy, and sparkly outfits that shined bright under the strobe lights, it was a party while they were onstage! They threw it back a bit for all the OG fans in the crowd, performing “Hot Mess” and “Night by Night“.

They then took a turn and got a little funky when they performed “Bad Decision“, and the fans ate it up! And lead singer Dave ran along the barricade, high-fiving and singing directly to the fans at the front of the crowd during their song “Over Your Shoulder“. They closed out their set with “Jealous (I Ain’t With It)“, which had everyone going wild, and “Personal Effects“, getting everyone in the venue to do a little two-step side-to-side dance with them. There were smiles all around as everyone list themselves in the music!
