Bring Me The Horizon return to deathcore

Way back in 2004, Bring Me The Horizon started their journey to becoming deathcore legends, with their one and only deathcore album, Count Your Blessings, arriving in 2006. The band quickly shifted toward a more accessible metalcore sound with Suicide Season. Later, they strayed even further from their deathcore origins, moving toward a more mainstream, pop-influenced sound rooted in alternative rock.

While this shift led to global superstardom, it also left some longtime fans wondering: Will we ever hear the sound that originally made us fall in love with Bring Me The Horizon?

The Metal Scene Gets Dehumanized With a New Single

In a huge surprise twist, Bring Me The Horizon dropped a new deathcore single, Dehumanized. These guys didn’t hold back with the video either. “Viewer discretion is advised” is posted directly at the beginning of the video.

Imagine mixing a gory horror film with the raw energy of an underground metal show. That’s what you get when you watch their new video on YouTube. Expect gnarly blast beats, iconic riffs, and vocals that show Oli Sykes hasn’t lost a beat.

A Hint at Something Larger?

Along with Dehumanized, Bring Me The Horizon also gave us a “repented” version of Black & Blue, a track we first heard on the iconic Count Your Blessings. In 2026, the band gave the song a full re-recording and re-release, leaving fans wondering: Is this a hint at something larger to come?

Black & Blue was a staple of the band’s brutal beginnings. For the 2026 release, they kept the same raw feel of the original but gave it a stadium-ready sound.

Bring Me The Horizon “repents” ‘Count Your Blessings‘.

Fans were blessed this year with a full re-recording and re-release of the album that put this band on the map. Many never thought they would see the day when Bring Me The Horizon embraced their roots once again. On July 10, the metal scene knew they were back.

With each song on the album already reaching over a million plays on Spotify, it’s clear the fans are here for it. Songs like Pray for Plagues are what captivated a generation and left blood all over the floor. The well-received “repent” of Count Your Blessings left many fans wondering if they will ever get to experience that energy live again.

Outbreak Fest gets annihilated

On July 10 and 11, Bring Me The Horizon brought their return to deathcore to the main stage, fully stripping back their usual stadium-sized production. The energetic crowd was treated to a raw and gritty performance that felt more like 2006 than 2026.

Security had their work cut out for them with no barricade separating the crowd from the stage. This allowed anyone to run up, grab the band members, and then stage-dive back into the madness of the pit. For much of the performance, lead singer Oli Sykes egged on the crowd, encouraging them to be as rowdy and brutal as possible and further bringing back that original Bring Me The Horizon feel.
