Photos: State Champs Hometown Show at Upstate Concert Hall

Who: State Champs, Against the Current, With Confidence, Don Broco

Where: Upstate Concert Hall, Clifton Park, New York

When: May 13, 2017

On May 13th, State Champs traveled to their hometown of Albany, New York to play a sold out show at Upstate Concert Hall. Fans traveled from all over Upstate New York to celebrate their return to the Capital Region. They brought opening acts Don Broco, With Confidence, and Against the Current with them on this tour, with local band Young Culture opening for this date. Guest list was stacked since it was a hometown show, and the photo pit was crammed with photographers from all around the state.

State Champs opened with “Remedy”, a headbanger from their 2013 album The Finer Things. The crowd was highly energetic, with many crowd surfers in the air as soon as they hit the stage. They played a 20 song setlist, highlighting their newest full length, Around the World and Back, to songs from their older EP’s back when they first got their start. It is incredible to see how far this band has come since their start in Albany, playing basement shows and Bogie’s, a small club in Albany that is no longer in business, to selling out shows around the world and back.
