Photos / Review: Seaway, local bands do Chain Reaction right

Who: Seaway, Such A Mess, Andy’s Room, Every Other Year, Crooked Teeth

Where: Chain Reaction!, Anaheim CA

When: May 6, 2017

Crowd surfing and scissor kicks consumed the Chain Reaction in Anaheim May 6 with Canadian band, Seaway and a few other bands that come from the local area.

The well-known venue with its mosaic walls of t-shirts got wild as Seaway took to the stage. Crowd surfing was a given, as well as fans singing along in unison to songs like “Airhead” from their 2015 album, Colour Blind and “Sabrina the Teenage Bitch” from their 2013 album Hoser. They not only performed one encore song, but two after their set ended — ending the night perfectly with one of their songs and a cover of “Stacy’s Mom.” Catch Seaway on tour this summer, and look out for new music coming soon as front man Ryan Locke announced that they are currently in the studios recording new bangers.

Local bands Crooked Teeth, Every Other Year, Andy’s Room (my favorite) and Such A Mess did not disappoint as they built the foundation to what has been a memorable, nostalgic night for myself at the Anaheim venue. I look forward to what each of these up-and-coming bands have in store for us in the near future.
