Artists You Need to Know: William Bolton

William Bolton

Prepare yourselves: Willy B is on the scene. Formally known as William Bolton, the 22-year-old Boston College graduate from Detroit, Michigan, has accomplished quite a lot just in the last two years alone. He’s already a producer, artist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He’s been independently releasing music throughout this period of time and has already managed to acquire 10 million views on SoundCloud, YouTube, and Spotify collectively. As if that wasn’t enough, he has over 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

It’s clear that Willy B knows what he is doing. It’s no surprise, then, that he managed to capture the attention of Ryan Leslie, who’s become his mentor. He’s played Firefly Music Festival. He supported Hoodie Allen on a 15-city European tour. He got to headline his first show on Valentine’s Day at Webster Hall. With so many incredible things already happening, the future is sure to be even more exciting.

Willy B’s sound could best be described as electric soul. He has a great charisma and rockstar energy. He’s young, fun, and enthusiastic. With such a great start to his career already, it can only get better. William Bolton is definitely an artist you should know.
