Concert Crap: Can you give a brief history on Woke Up Waiting?
Woke Up Waiting: Basically we all came together after our old bands broke up. We became an official band in November of 2015 and we’ve been working forward ever since.
CC: The EP Better Off This Way is out in October. What can everyone expect from it and what are some of your favorite moments when creating it?
WUW: Expect to be surprised. Haha. We had some really fun moments our last week of recording it, including the final vocal note on the EP being sung perfectly on key by all three of us. We didn’t even need to tune it and left it raw after recording. We were pretty stoked on that for a while and I don’t think we’ll ever forget it.
CC: What are your thoughts on the state of pop punk today?
WUW: It’s awesome to see it making a comeback with all these great new bands and the pioneering bands still touring and doing reunions. Hopefully we can be a part of it!
CC: Who are some of your favorite artists from the genre?
WUW: State Champs, Neck Deep and All Time Low.
CC: What advice would you give to someone barely beginning their music career?
WUW: Practice. And practice. And then practice some more.
CC: What does the rest of 2016 have in store for you guys?
WUW: After the release of our EP we’re hoping there’s big things in store for us, but we understand it all takes time. In our down time we’ll be working on new covers and even an original Christmas song so stay tuned!
CC: Is there anything else you would like to say to your fans or anyone that may be reading this interview right now?
WUW: We really hope you enjoy joining our journey as much as we enjoy creating it. Thank you for everything so far and we won’t disappoint! Much love from all of us.
