Blackout Balter’s “Twist and Bend” gets the blood flowing

Blackout Balter - Twist and Bend - Square Front (1)

Rockers Blackout Balter are a band from Cambridge, Massachusetts, with their debut release, Twist and Bend, out tomorrow. Even though this is an EP, it does do damage to your musical soul with a catchy and smooth six tracks that will definitely make an impact.

The whole EP sounds similar to The Strokes and The Killers. .  Dave Keuning of the The Killers also lent a hand at a few tracks, playing guitar on some of them. He also let the band record the EP in Battle Born Studios in Las Vegas and got Robert Root (Imagine Dragons, New Order) to help produce.

“Marionette” is an upbeat track that starts off the release with an indie type sound similar to the bands mentioned above. “Goodbye Cambridge” starts off with n ’80’s-esque sound and keeps rolling with smooth lyrics and a constant positive melody throughout.

“Heavy Hand” is definitely one of the highlights of the release. The chorus is infectious and will get you moving your whole body, bob your head  and get you singing along with lead singer Philip Cohen. “Edison” closes out the EP just as it started, never slowing down and getting the blood flowing. It will leave you wanting more and more from these guys. The only downside to the release is that there isn’t more tracks to rock out too.

Twist and Bend will definitely get the venues in pumping and jumping for more from these guys. Keep an eye out for them, you won’t want to miss a live version of these tracks.
