Deftones move intimate crowd at the Fox Theater Pomona

Grammy winning, heavy-weight nu metal/alternative rock band Deftones played The Fox Theater in Pomona Wednesday night as part of an intimate, west coast tour tour the band embarked on with support from Plague Vendor.

Deftones played a very lengthy set of crowd favorites that ranged throughout their discography.

It is also important to note that this night was also the 18th anniversary of the band’s sophomore album Around the Fur. Deftones did not leave fans of this album in the dark. The band performed many of the singles from the album in addition to the other numerous hits they had planned for their audience. Singles from “Around the Fur” that were played that night included: “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away),” “Headup,” “Around the Fur” and “My Own Summer (Shove It).”

Other highlights from the night included Chino Moreno’s short and impromptu vocal cover of Drake’s famous Top 40 single “Hotline Bling.” The Drake cover lead straight into “Passenger” from the White Pony album.

The night ended with an encore performance featuring two songs from the band’s first release, Adrenaline, “Bored” and “Engine No. 9.”

The band did no comment on future tour dates, but many sources have confirmed that the new Deftones album is done, is currently being mixed and will be avaliable to the public early 2016.
